Twitter lanceert Hovercards

Hovercards zijn visitekaartjes op Twitter

Twitter heeft gisteren een nieuwe feature toegevoegd aan haar service. Het gaat om zogenaamde Hovercards. Dat zijn een soort visitekaartjes die verschijnen als je met je muis over een twitter gebruiker beweegt. Op de hovercards staat de belangrijkste informatie van die gebruiker, zoals zijn bio, aantal volgers, en website.

De nieuwe service werd aangekondigd op het twitter blog. Daar wordt aangegeven dat de feature de komende weken wordt uitgerold, waardoor nog niet iedereen er direct gebruik van kan maken.

Twitter schrijft: Today, we’re introducing a feature called Hovercards that will be a handy way to interact with the folks behind each tweet. Hovercards are cards which appear when you hover over a username or avatar. The cards display additional information about the person and allow you to interact with them while staying within the context of your page. One way we’ve found these cards to be useful is to find out more about retweeted people and follow them right there. You can also see more information with an expanded view of the card.
