MySpace kondigt integratie met Twitter aan

MySpace updates naar Twitter

Het lijkt er steeds meer op dat Twitter een plek wordt waarop alle informatie van mensen verzameld kan worden. Bekend is dat veel van de meest gevolgde Twitter account geen mensen, maar websites zijn die hun headlines naar Twitter pushen. Nu komt ook MySpace met een volledige integratie met Twitter. Gebruikers van MySpace kunnen hun updates realtime doorzetten naar hun Twitter accounts. Andersom kunnen Twitter gebruikers hun stream doorzetten naar MySpace.

MySpace kondigde de stap aan op haar blog. Zelf noemt MySpace het een “two way sync between MySpace en Twitter”. Indien veel mensen gebruik gaan maken van de sync optie, kan MySpace in een klap de grootste “gebruiker” worden van Twitter. Zie hier de sync pagina.

MySpace schrijft: Today we’re beginning the global beta rollout of a new functionality on MySpace that empowers our users to sync their MySpace status updates with their Twitter feed. Any U.S. user can opt-in to sync their status so that any update created on MySpace will appear in your Twitter feed and any Twitter feed update will appear within your MySpace status & mood.

Voor de sync wordt gebruik gemaakt van het oAuth protocol. Dat blijkt uit de functionaliteiten die MySpace beschrijft:

Syncing functionality includes:

· Status updates synced from MySpace to Twitter and vice versa

· Updates originating from MySpace will be noted as such on Twitter and vice versa

· Status syndication can be enabled for one-way or two-way

· When updates post to Twitter, readers have a link back to MySpace to make commenting easy

· Enables on-the-go status syncing (for Twitter and MySpace Mobile – WAP and apps)

· Open authentication technology (OAuth) protects account credentials and data shared between sites
